Le Pré Curieux is the only garden in Europe to address the importance of wetlands for water quality. It includes various reconstituted wetlands (marshes, ponds, wet meadows, ponds), which visitors discover during a guided walk. Dragonflies, salamanders, black kite have already taken up residence. In order to preserve these ecosystems, particular emphasis is placed on sustainable management: all chemicals are prohibited, heat weeding is favoured, composting avoids waste disposal, and the use of organic fertilizers allows to develop the microfauna of the soil.
The Pré Curieux is now a real educational laboratory. The 2,000 school children who were welcomed in the garden in 2005 were able to enjoy activities on the theme of water: picking, analysis of collected samples, and reconstitution of the food chain of the pond.
